How long things are kept

  • Raw website events: up to 13 months, then deleted.
  • Messages through Eric: the text up to 12 months; the delivery record (sent, delivered, failed) up to 24 months.
  • One-off install access (for example Tag Manager): deleted when the install ends.

The full list is on our Privacy page.

Deleting your account is not erasing your data

Delete my account in Eric retires your business: its channels stop and its history is kept. See Your account, handing over and deleting.

Have your data erased

  1. Go to Ask us. Signed out, choose Delete my account or data (or, if you're a visitor to a website that uses Eric, I'm a visitor on a website that uses Eric and want my data deleted). You can also write to the contact address on our Privacy page.
  2. Use the email address on your account, and say what you want erased: your whole account, one business, or one visitor's records.
  3. We may ask you to confirm the request from that email address before anything is deleted.

We delete personal data within 30 days of your request, and backups age out within 90 days. An account with other members or with payment history may need a conversation first.

Note: Anonymous patterns Eric has learned across businesses, with nothing that identifies you or your visitors, can be kept. You can ask us to leave your data out. See What Eric learns.

Still stuck?

Tell us what you tried and what you saw. You don’t need to be signed in, and we reply by email, usually within one working day.
