Shopify app and orders

Install Eric's Shopify app to add the tracking code to your store and count your orders.

On a Shopify store, one app does two jobs: it adds Eric's tracking code to your store and checkout, and it lets Eric read your orders so he can count real sales. There is no code to paste.

Because the app adds tracking to your checkout, it has permission to install that tracking as well as to read orders. Eric does not change your products, prices or theme content.

Install the app

  1. In Eric, open Connections, click Connect your revenue, then pick Shopify. (You can also start from the Shopify install guide.)
  2. A box asks Which Shopify store is yours? Type your store address. It ends in .myshopify.com, for example your-store.myshopify.com.
  3. Click Continue to Shopify.
  4. On Shopify's screen, approve the app.
  5. You come back to Eric to finish.

On Connections, Shopify then shows how far Eric has got, for example "Counting your orders. The last 60 days are on their way." If it says "Your checkout is covered. To count your orders too, install the app again from here and approve order access.", run the steps again and approve order access on Shopify's screen.

Disconnect Shopify

  1. Open Connections, then the Connect your revenue row.
  2. Click Disconnect next to Shopify.
  3. Eric says: "This uninstalls my app from your store: I stop counting your orders, and my tracking comes off your store and checkout." Click Disconnect to confirm, or Keep it.

Eric asks Shopify to uninstall his app. If Shopify won't let him, he says so and shows Open your Shopify apps: uninstall the app there yourself. Uninstalling it from your Shopify admin at any time works the same way.

Important: Uninstalling also takes Eric's tracking code off your store and checkout, so tests on your store stop. The orders Eric counted are deleted when Shopify asks apps to remove a store's data, 48 hours after the uninstall.
