HighLevel
Connect a HighLevel sub-account so Eric can follow your leads and deals, choose the right sub-account, and fix the usual problems.

Connecting HighLevel lets Eric follow a lead past your form and see which ones become deals. He reads one HighLevel sub-account (HighLevel also calls it a location): its contacts, opportunities, pipelines, conversations and appointments. He does not change anything in HighLevel.
Before you start
- You need a HighLevel login that can open the sub-account for this website. If you use an agency account, check that your HighLevel user has access to that sub-account.
- Know which sub-account belongs to this website. One HighLevel login often sees several.
- In Eric, you need to be the owner or someone who Can change things.
Connect HighLevel
- Sign in to Eric. You need to be the owner of the business, or someone who Can change things.
- Open Connections from the menu on the left.
- Click the Connect your CRM row, then the Connect your CRM button inside it.
- Pick HighLevel from the list.
- Your browser goes to a secure connection page and then to HighLevel's own sign-in. Sign in and approve read access.
- You come back to Connections. Eric tells you what he can now read, or asks you one question to finish.
Before you leave, Eric shows this line under HighLevel: "HighLevel will ask for a Token Type. Leave it on Location and press Connect. That's the setting for a single sub-account."
Token Type: choose Location, not Agency
The connection page asks for a Token Type. Leave it on Location. A Location token reads one sub-account, which is what Eric needs. An agency (company) token can't read a sub-account's leads and deals, even though the connection looks successful.
Choose the sub-account on HighLevel's screen
HighLevel then shows its own approval screen with a list of sub-accounts. Pick the sub-account for this website and approve.
Tell Eric which location is yours
Usually Eric finds the location by himself and you see: "HighLevel connected. Following your leads and deals…". He reads the last 90 days first, then checks for new leads and deals every few hours.
If he can't tell which location it is, he opens a box called Which HighLevel location is yours?:
- If it lists a location, select it and click Use this location.
- If it asks you to paste a Location ID: in HighLevel, open the sub-account and go to Settings, then Business Profile. The Location ID is at the top of General Information, with a copy button. It's also in the sub-account's web address, after
/location/.
A Location ID is one string of letters and numbers with no spaces or dots, usually twenty characters, like ve9EPM428h8vShlRW1KT. Copy the whole thing: a shortened one such as pDc2... won't work.
When it works you see: "HighLevel connected to … I'm reading your last 90 days of leads and deals now — they'll show here within a few minutes."
To change the location later, open the Connect your CRM row on Connections and click Change next to HighLevel (or Choose location if Eric is still waiting for one). If you choose a different sub-account, the leads and deals read from the old one are deleted, so the two never mix.
My sub-account isn't in HighLevel's list
The list on HighLevel's approval screen comes from HighLevel, not from Eric. HighLevel only shows the sub-accounts that the HighLevel user you signed in with can open. If the one you want is missing:
- Close HighLevel's screen. Nothing is connected yet, so there is nothing to undo in Eric.
- Check which HighLevel user you are signed in as. In HighLevel, sign out, or use a private browser window.
- Sign in to HighLevel as a user who can open that sub-account: the sub-account's own admin user, or an agency user who has been given access to it. Your HighLevel agency admin controls which sub-accounts each user can open.
- Back in Eric, open Connections, click Connect your CRM and pick HighLevel again. If Eric shows "That connection didn't finish.", click Try again.
"This HighLevel login was approved for the whole agency"
You see this when HighLevel approved an agency login instead of a single sub-account: "This HighLevel login was approved for the whole agency, and HighLevel won't let an agency login read a sub-account's leads and deals. Press Use a different login, and on HighLevel's approval screen choose the sub-account for this business."
HighLevel shows Needs attention, with a Use a different login button. You find it in three places: next to HighLevel on Connections (in the Connect your CRM row), behind Fix on the setup screen, and in the Which HighLevel location is yours? box.
- Click Use a different login.
- Eric says he'll disconnect HighLevel, delete what he read from it, and take you to sign in again. Click Use a different login to confirm.
- On the connection page, leave Token Type on Location.
- Sign in to HighLevel and, on HighLevel's approval screen, choose the sub-account for this website.
Disconnect or reconnect HighLevel
- Open Connections from the menu on the left (under Setup).
- Click the Connect your CRM row to open it. HighLevel is listed with its status.
- Click Disconnect next to HighLevel. Eric says what will happen; click Disconnect again to confirm, or Keep it.
- To connect again, click Add another (or Connect your CRM if nothing else is connected there) and pick HighLevel.
If HighLevel stops accepting Eric's login (for example the app was removed in HighLevel), Eric tells you: "My connection to HighLevel has expired. Tap Reconnect to fix it." Until then he uses what his own tracking sees. The notice's Reconnect takes you to the Connect your CRM step; click Reconnect next to HighLevel.
