Findings

What a finding is, where you see them, and what you can do with one.

On this page

A finding is a place where your website is losing people, with Eric's view of why. For example: many visitors on your pricing page leave without clicking any plan.

Where findings appear

  • Today shows the one thing Eric is working on now, under I'm working on this, with what stage it is at, such as Investigating now, Writing the fix now, Waiting on you or Testing a fix now. Click Show me for the detail.
  • Alerts and opportunities lists things Eric noticed.
  • In Slack, Teams or WhatsApp, Eric sends a finding when it is worth your attention, and lists up to three in his morning note.

If there is nothing worth your time, Today says so, for example "Nothing needs you right now. I'll come and find you if that changes." While Eric is still learning your traffic, he says that too.

What you can do with a finding

  • Look into it: Eric investigates why visitors drop off there and comes back with what he found and what he would change. Click Show me why on a finding's page to see his working.
  • Not now: Eric parks it and won't bring it up again for 90 days unless you ask. Say findings any time to see it.

Looking into a finding uses credits. Your free daily credits pay for this first. See How credits work.

From finding to change

  1. Eric looks into the finding.
  2. He proposes one exact change: where it goes, what it says now and what it would say after, why, and how he'll know if it worked.
  3. You see it first with Show me first.
  4. You start a test, apply a fix, or say not now.
Note: Changes Eric shows are made by his tracking code on your pages. Your website's own files aren't edited, and the original comes back within a minute when you put a change back.
