DocsInstall the tracking code

Shopify

Add Eric to your Shopify store with the app and theme embed, or by pasting the code into your theme.

How-to guide · Last updated 27 October 2026

On this page

When Eric offers his Shopify app, use it: it covers every page of your store and your checkout, which theme code can't reach.

Install with the app

  1. On Eric's install page, click Get it from the Shopify App Store, or type your store's .myshopify.com address and click Install on Shopify. (The address is in your Shopify admin, under Settings, then Domains.)
  2. Approve the app in Shopify.
  3. Back in Eric, on Connect your Shopify store, click Link this store.
  4. Click Turn on the app embed. Your theme editor opens: switch on Eric's embed and save.
  5. Come back to Eric. He checks by himself; see Check the tracking code is working.

The app also lets Eric count your orders, starting with the last 60 days. See Shopify on the Connections page.

Paste into your theme instead

If the app isn't offered for your store, Eric shows these steps:

  1. Open your theme editor: Online Store → Themes → Edit code.
  2. Open theme.liquid in the Layout folder.
  3. Paste the code before </head>.
  4. Save and come back to Eric.
Important: If you change your theme, the pasted code goes with the old theme. Paste it again into the new one. Pasted theme code doesn't reach Shopify's checkout.

Headless Shopify

If your storefront is built outside Shopify, paste the code before </head> in the base template that renders every page, then deploy.
