Connect Meta Ads so Eric can tell you which Facebook and Instagram ads bring customers.

How-to guide · Last updated 27 October 2026

On this page

Eric reads spend and results from one Meta ad account, once a day. He does not change your ads, ad sets or budgets.

Before you start

Find your ad account ID in Meta Ads Manager. It looks like act_123456789.

Connect Meta Ads

  1. Sign in to Eric. You need to be the owner of the business, or someone who Can change things.
  2. Open Connections from the menu on the left.
  3. Click the Connect your ads row, then the Connect your ads button inside it.
  4. Pick Meta Ads from the list.
  5. Your browser goes to a secure connection page and then to Meta Ads's own sign-in. Sign in and approve read access.
  6. You come back to Connections. Eric tells you what he can now read, or asks you one question to finish.

Eric then says "Connected. Tell me which ad account is yours." and opens Which ad account is yours? Paste the ad account ID (with or without act_) and click Use this account. When it works you see "Reading spend for … I'll keep it up to date every day."

To change the ad account later, click Change next to Meta Ads on Connections.

You seeWhat to do
"That doesn't look like a Meta ad account id."Use the number after act_ in Ads Manager.
"Meta says this login can't read that ad account."Check the ID, or click Use a different login and sign in with the Meta login that manages that ad account.

Disconnect or reconnect Meta Ads

  1. Open Connections from the menu on the left (under Setup).
  2. Click the Connect your ads row to open it. Meta Ads is listed with its status.
  3. Click Disconnect next to Meta Ads. Eric says what will happen; click Disconnect again to confirm, or Keep it.
  4. To connect again, click Add another (or Connect your ads if nothing else is connected there) and pick Meta Ads.
Important: Disconnecting Meta Ads stops Eric reading it and deletes what he had already read from it. Connecting again reads the history again from the start.
