Show me first
See Eric's change on your own page, privately, before anything goes live.
How-to guide · Last updated 27 October 2026
Show me first lets you see a proposed change on your real page before anything goes live. Only you see it, and your visit isn't counted. It costs nothing.
Ask for a preview
- Press Show me first on Eric's message, or say
show me first. You can also use Show me first on the Waiting for you screen in the app. - Eric checks the change in a browser on a phone and on a computer first. This takes about a minute (a few minutes for a rebuilt page).
- He sends the link privately: a direct message in Slack, your personal chat in Teams, or your WhatsApp thread.
In the shared channel he only says: "I've sent you the preview link privately. It works for 24 hours, only for you, and nothing counts while you look."
What the preview shows
- Now and Eric's version, side by side, with pictures of the first screen on a phone and on a computer.
- Open your page with the change: your live page, showing the change only to you, in this browser.
- Open your page as it is now, to compare.
Decide
The preview page has no approve button. Go back to the chat where Eric suggested the change and say start the test, start cautiously for 10% of visitors, or not now. You can also decide in the app, on the Waiting for you screen (reached from Today).
Problems
| You see | What to do |
|---|---|
| "This preview link has run out." | Links work for 24 hours. Say show me first again for a fresh one. |
| "I only send a preview link privately, and I couldn't open a direct message with you." | Open a direct message with Eric in Slack (in Teams, find Eric under Apps and say hi), then press the button again. |
